  • Small Blessings

Those who complain about the smell of cigarette smoke in my study now have a new pong to deal with! After the wee one stole Toastie's dinner, when our back was turned, we had a shitty night! The poor RW had a monstrous amount to clean up this morning, but even with air freshener and disinfectant we are still experiencing the dreaded aroma! Now that should keep everyone away!

Toastie is still not keen on the newest member of the Rectory, but here's hoping he will come round soon!

  • Home to Reality

After a wonderful three weeks in The Gambia, it's back to humdrum stuff and parish life. Thousands of e-mails, mostly rubbish, a pile of unread mail, also rubbish, and a particularly difficult funeral awaited me on my retiurn. Oh! And a rerrible cold to go with it which I share liberally with the Rectory Wife.

However, she shows much compassion, and has bought me a wonderful little puppy for my birthday. I've always wanted a mate for Toastie, and she is now very much at home, after 15 hours in the Rectory, causing havoc! Toastie is none too pleased, but we live in hope that some Christian love will have been caught by the Parish Dog, and that a friendship, and courtship might follow!

    Her name is "Peanut"!DSC00242DSC00244
