  • Freedom!

The Rectory wife is away for a couple of days! Wonderful! I get the chance to slob out, do no hoovering, keep the duvet crinkled, wash no dishes, play with the dogs, and enjoy. Mmmmm much the same as when she's here!

  • Such a Busy Life!

So much has happened to me since my last post. A good friend committed suicide and I officiated at her funeral on Monday in Glenrothes. She was a poppet!

My wee group of carers won the Evening Times Local Heroes award at a big bash at Glasgow City Chambers. We try to get kids drug-free and keep them that way!

The mother of our congregation, Mary Dyer died on Sunday morning. She was a superstar. We will miss her greatly.

    And I'm exhausted!

    God is still good, though!

  • Dreaded Colds

People keep telling me it's the weather, and if it is then I have a theological question! What kind of God gives us good weather that bring on colds, so miserable, that we can't enjoy the good weather that brought them on in the first place? Bit masochistic it seems to me!

  • A Bit of Beautiful Space

After the incredible busyness of Holy Week and Easter, a chance today to get into the car and head to Dunoon for a wonderful lunch with a good pal. Her home-made bread is worth driving all these miles for on its own, but the scenery is just magnificent. My wee heart just filled wih joy to be alive in this most beautiful of nations.

Just a pity about the tourists who clog up the roads and don't ever seem to know where they are going! Beep! Beep!

  • Easter at Last!

Holy Week is always pretty stressful, but this year, in Dumbarton, with two ministers sick and one vacant C of S parish, the ecumenical load was pretty horrendous, coupled of course with our own Pisckie things! However, we have survived and Easter morning is here! Alleluia!

One member of another parish tells me it's going to be exciting in his church today. They have a real live Easter Bunny coming. Huh! We have a real, live baby to baptise at 11am. Welcome to the Body of Christ, little Neve! Will she realise her local parish is made up of nutcases? It is, you know! I fit in well!!
