Off to Cursillo in Holy Trinity Ayr last night, to listen to Maxie Richards. She was talking about her life's work in addiction and was gracious enough to acknowledge that it was through some work I was doing in Possilpark, Glasgow, in the 80s, that got her involved in addiction work in the first place.
In the course of her "talk", she mentioned a "wee wummin" called Jessie Campbell, who was a wee star in the project at the time. Jessie had a 12 year old called Anne. I don't know what happened to Anne, but even at that age she was destined to be a leader of people!
One day this wee girl, flanked by dozens of kids, knocked the door of the Rectory at St Matthew's Scottish Episcopal Church.
"Minister", she said, "Sure this church isnae jist fur Kafflics, and sure it isnae jist fur Proddesants. Sure it's fur everybody?"
It sure was Anne! It still is! As is the Scottish Episcopal Church as a whole! In St Matthew's, though, we learned that some issues are more important than others!

Thank you for that. We forgot sometimes that children are smarter than they look!!!!
