Trying to get things together for the 30th Annivesary Service on Tuesday proves difficult! The Merbekke music is lost, the organist has never played this stuff anyway, and I'm wondering if I'm asking too much! To go back to a 1970 Liturgy you really need some familiarity. What we need at this stage is a very kind organist somewhere, with a copy of the "old music" to come forward and offer to play on Tuesday evening. My own keyboard player would be delighted, I know! So would I, but these sort of miracles don't happen, do they?

To heap on pressures, the electrics in the car went crazy yesterday and my electric driver's window is stuck down and the appropriate fuse is lost. Ask the RW where it may have gone! This is not easy, cos the car needs fixed, and I need to finalise the Car Treasure Hunt for tomorrow!

I went all the way to Pollokshields, yesterday, too, for "special" incense, but the Dean seems to have forgotten to lay it aside, so a trip I didn't need! Or was it? I walked into the church I served my curacy in, 30 years ago, and the memories and the joy came flooding back. Not much has changed in the fabric of St Ninian's over the years, and I was able to get down on my knees and give thanks for that building, and its wonderful congregation, where I was trained and honed, loved and accepted.
