That one came from Liverpool, who had Ian St John as their centre forward. On the gates of Anfield, there was the legend, which makes more sense:- "Jesus saves but St John nets the rebound."
I stand corrected! Does that mean the BVM was playing on the other wing? (Just picture the Rood Screen!)
