No, I didn't go. We had a wonderful expression of the Liturgy in my own parish yesterday!
But what a weekend for my Cathedral Church! This is the building I was ordained in, went to as a boy on Thursday mornings, and served as Chaplain in later years. +Gene preaching and celebrating, and a same-sex blessing all on the weekend that Lambeth wraps up. Pushing the boat out a bit? Especially on a weekend that Rowan Williams, (God bless his little cotton socks), declares a moratorium on consecrating gay bishops and postponing same-sex blessings meantime. He's trying to buy time, the lad!
However, in his sermon at St Mary's, thankfully, + Gene is right, and a totally inclusive church will one day arrive. Just a question of when.
Our Cathedral may well be leading the way, but the Diocese and the Province has to come with them.
Just a thought as I read in my Herald today that The Anglican Communion now stands on the verge of a split. On one side are the liberal congregations of America and, judging by yesterday, Scotland. This was indeed news to me! I'm not so sure that the Scottish Episcopal Church is quite ready for such a drastic step as to wash our hands of the Anglican Communion. Unless The Herald knows something I don't!

I got two copies of his book signed too!
