What a day! Feline lovers will be glad to know that the cat is recovering well. Even had a play with the puppy tonight, and wanted out to hunt later! Have grounded her for now!

Biggest problem was a phone call tonight from paramedics to tell me that dad had fallen on the stairs of the Masonic Club where he goes for a whisky or three from time to time. He had split his head open and was being taken to the RAH in Paisley for treatment. He was being his usual awkward self when we arrived, and wanted seen to first. It's a busy A&E Unit, and there were a couple of Road Traffic Accidents with smashed up people well in the line before him! So, we had to wait. It was like something out of a bad episode of "Casualty", a British melodrama on TV.

After about two hours he was seen, and stitched up by a very competent doctor. You could actually see his skull underneath the gash, and had twelve stitches put in. Not the greatest of patients! However, they've kept him in tonight under observation, and I'll have the dubious pleasure of running him home tomorrow. There's a full bottle of whisky lying in his flat, so he'll not be needing pain-killers!

Got home after 11, without coffee or food or even cigarettes for hours and hours, so I was a bit ratty.

At least the cat's better!
