Arriving at Largs today, ready to get the ferry over to Millport, the CalMac rep told us that there was a high likelihood that the ferries would go off until tomorrow at any time. Did we want to take the chance of being stranded on the Isle of Cumbrae? A local, a member of The Cathedral on Cumbrae told me she had seen ferries cancelled in better weather. Now, I didn't care! I was up for the gamble and actually bought tickets for my car and passengers. Cost a fortune too! Ready for the adventure!

However, there were many, including my Bishop, who thought it unwise to travel. On returning to the car, the RW and G reckoned that they couldn't take the chance. We had the dogs in the car, and my father in hospital, and the RW has work tomorrow with meetings early that she must attend. So, the sensible ones won. I was outvoted, Guv! And, yes, I suppose we were "wimps" Martin!

I hear everyone actually got home OK as the gales subsided a bit after high tide. Hope it was a good Cursillo Weekend!

Dad will probably get home tomorrow! Then the fun begins again!
