The problem with blogging is that, in the end, you may have to be a bit thick-skinned. If you are brave enough to put your opinions up for the world to read, then it's possible, no probable, that someone, somewhere will disagree with you, or correct an assumption that you have made. That's fair, and why I enjoy reading comments on blogs as much as I enjoy the posts themselves. Debate is healthy.
The blogging community are just that. A community. It's almost like a family, and sometimes you agree, disagree or are totally indifferent. However, as a community we don't, or shouldn't fall out with each other, or give up the ghost! Everyone's opinion is valid, even if sometimes the reaction to our opinion is not one that we expected or enjoy. It's what, however, makes blogging fun!
I, on reflection, annoy quite a few, rankle with others, make some laugh and some furious. I have been "written off" as being shallow, and told by others that I am an inspiration! I have helped a few who share the depression stuff. I infuriate fans of the Old Firm and I sometimes even get hate mail!
Have I ever thought of stopping? Yes! Many times. But hey! I enjoy the banter! I don't intentionally hurt anyone, although sometimes I will. That's just part an parcel of the game, and at the end of the day the negative responses just either make me think again, or they go right over my head.
We are a community of soul-friends. That's the way I like it.
