It looks as if my "big" computer upstairs has died! The computer doctor will come to see it tomorrow, but I fear for the worse! This means that the February Magazine has had to be cancelled, maybe a relief in the middle of the big move into the church building before the demolition of the hall.
AA moved their cupboard and the rest of their gear into the church after their meeting, and looking around the hall, apart from my office, everything that needs a home has (almost) found it.
We are dealing here with a congregation of hoarders. It seems to me that if stuff in cupboards hasn't been touched for ten years then we don't need it! Now I'm back from The Gambia I can have the casting vote on what stays and what is destined for the skip!
Of course, nice things are found like old photos which will be kept, but a brass light fitting, which nobody even remembers what it lit in its lifetime is due for the skip shortly!
We had a good Cursillo meeting in church tonight, and as long as the heating boiler continues, we should have a heated building for the next months which is more than comfortable! It's wonderful to have an adaptable church building.
In many ways my head is still somewhere across the Sahara Desert, and still feeling poorly, I'm hoping that the antibiotics I was given will have cleared up sufficiently to allow me to get my head and body together before the office move happens early next week. we will have the Sunday service in the hall next Sunday, (8th), and that seems to be a wonderful opportunity to share great memories and say goodbye to a building which has served us well!
