Today sees the arrival of Archie! Archie is a beautiful, docile and obedient Golden Retriever who belongs to the RW's son. Unfortunately his circumstances have changed and his new living arrangements don't allow him to keep a dog, so Archie's new home is going to be Dumbarton! Toastie and Peanut are in for a shock when he arrives later today. He has a pet passport, having travelled to France already in his short life, so he'll be allowed into Scotland on that basis.
Of course, Archie can't stay here forever, and we've lined up prospective new owners who will look after him for us, but it's envisaged that he'll be a regular visitor to the Rectory anyway. How the SA will react to this is anyone's guess but I reckon that she'll refrain from attacking this one in the way she tears lumps out of the spaniels in this homestead!
