We had a wonderful Eucharist yesterday morning in the old church hall. This morning we handed the keys over to the builder who is beginning by cutting off services to the doomed edifice. However, it holds many happy memories for us, and we remembered the good times, the laughter, the way many were brought into the congregation through events held there, not least the Murder Mystery Nights, and the special people who held it all together and are no longer with us physically at least.
The celebration of the good times was done with a slightly larger congregation than usual, and the singin' was just magic!
Afterwards at coffee time we all got the chance to write a bit of graffiti on the walls! It was a rerr day, so it wis!
Now we prepare for 20-30 weeks squeezed into the church, with the holes in the roof, before starting all over again with a spanking new hall fit for purpose, and fit for our mission in the 21st Century!
